“Keele Facilities Management has been asked to trial the Envirowater Free Flow Valve.

The trial was carried out in Innovation Centre 1, this building is 15 years old and has 7 gents urinals on 3 floors within the building , they previously had an auto-timed flushing system.

The conversion to the Envirowater Free Flow Valve was carried out on all 7 urinals , and the water turned off.

The urinals were monitored for the first six months between September 2013 and February 2014 on a daily basis, the building tenants were asked to report any problems during the trial, none were received.

There has been further monitoring through out 2014 on a monthly basis with the units changed in line with the Envirowater guidelines.

The trial has been highly successful with no pipe work blockages, no smells and maintenance free.

Keele Facilities Management are installing further units in Innovation Centre 3 during January 2015″
